The Dome House

A Palm Springs weekend getaway with fellow creatives to explore, collaborate, and inspire.

PART 3

We also visited Salvation Mountain, the Moorten Botanical Garden, and ate a lot of delicious local food and desserts.

We booked our stay at the dome house through Airbnb. Although this was my first experience staying at a vacation rental, I had such a great time and would stay here again. One big perk for me was that the house was a short fifteen minute drive to downtown so we weren't completely secluded in the middle of nowhere.

The dome house is a hidden gem that sits on five-acres of land with non-obstructive views of the mountains and windmills. The interior was welcoming and bright with an abundance of light. The overall design had major mid-century modern influence with subtle pops of color, which I greatly appreciated.

The geniuses behind this geodesic house design include owner/LA-based architect, Pavlina Williams and her husband. Together, they brought this once neglected structure back to life in the best possible way. Read more about their renovation journey in an interview done by BoutiqueHomes here.

It's hard not to notice the fun geometric shapes throughout both the interior and exterior.

You can't beat the views and location for this vacation rental. It's a bit of an off roading adventure getting here but is so worth it.

In summary, this place was the perfect creative getaway retreat.
